In Today’s Episode of….
MACOSX-MADNESS!!!
I have a 2012 MacBook and I am trying to rebuild it for this guy who has a 9yr girl who doesn’t have a laptop..
NO biggie eah!?!
Well…
I previously used OCLP, hacked the bios and had Sequoia on there …
Then last week I reformatted and installed Xubuntu ..
No biggie to switch back eah??
Well…….
Apparently going from OSX –> Linux –> BACK to OSX.. is a BeeeOOOCccch!!
I had to boot to linux then run efibootmgr to specify the USB stick.
First it didn’t find the boot number so I had to mount the USB drive then use efibootmangar to manually add it to the boot menu…
Finally after booting I got it to see the USB Drive.. Cool eah…. LET’s GO!!
Well…
After attempting several times.. (it must be the new image download of sequoia or something) it would NOT go past 5%!!..
1st time I had to go back and reformat the drive to MACOS Extended then retry again.. Then it still got stuck at 5%
So after arguing with Claude it said to *punt* on Sequoia and go back to Ventura…
So here I am…
I just imaged another USB and am trying Ventura now..
I swear..
Something I thought would take me like an hr total has taken me almost 2 days..
1st time I had to go back and reformat the drive to APFS then retry again..
